It lives no more. In one of those &#8220;here&#8217;s something odd&#8221; articles that appear in my news feed every so often, I read that the observatory dome has been permanently dismantled, some 10-11 years after \u00a0it was damaged during a hurricane. I feel like someone should send an apology to all those happy people shown in the photo accompanying <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baynews9.com\/content\/news\/baynews9\/on-the-town\/article.html\/content\/news\/articles\/bn9\/2012\/3\/28\/popular_manatee_coun\/\" target=\"_blank\">the announcement<\/a>.
