November has been particularly painful&#8212;all those light displays and I&#8217;m stuck below the 49th parallel.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve got a few hours to kill, I suggest doing a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/search\/?q=aurora\" target=\"_blank\">flickr search on the word &#8220;aurora&#8221;<\/a> (don&#8217;t ask me about the kittens, I don&#8217;t know why they&#8217;re there).
